Its THE LITTLE PRINCE

Hi Folks !

Life changes along with the seasons, have you noticed?!

Sometimes, subtly.

At other times, hugely.

Nature, or the birds and animals and trees don't seem to complain, though!

They quickly shake their leaves or wings, as the case may be and continue to enjoy the change.

That's their secret.

Enjoying the change.

Without missing a beat.

Let's come to today's topic - one of my faaaaaaaavourite books!

The Little Prince, by Antoine De Saint-Exupery.

Have you read it?!

It's hardly over a hundred pages, with many illustrations, so it's short and sweet and packs a wealth of wisdom.

I first read it about 10-12 years ago and since then, every time I revisited it, I discovered new meaning in it, based on my own understanding of life and its muddles.(or more like my muddled understanding of life!)

Let me tell you the bare bones of the story!

Saint-Exupery has to land in the Sahara 'a 1000 miles from any human habitation' because something breaks in the engine of his plane.

He is completely isolated in the vast desert but then, in the morning, suddenly there is this golden-haired 6 year old boy waking him up, asking him to draw sheep for him!

Where had he come from?!

The Little Prince has come from a tiny planet which has 3 volcanoes, two of them dormant, one active! He has to clean his planet every day. There are huge baobab trees which keep sprouting and have to be uprooted otherwise they will overwhelm his tiny planet and turn it into dust.

Then there is the lovely Rose which one day takes root on his planet and he falls in love with her.
She, however,is self-centered, and irritated, the Little Prince sets off on his journey to Earth.

He visits a few planets along the way and finds the adult there to be most uninspiring !

On the earth, he meets a fox who is very wise and a snake which does not bite him because he is so pure.

Then he meets the author - and on the 7th day, with the help of the snake, he goes back to his planet.

That's it?!

Yes.

And of course a big Noooooooooooooooooo !

Such small little books are very clever!

You can keep peeling layers as you yourself grow and evolve.

At one level, it is all about the adults - they are narrow-minded and singularly dull and uninspiring who mostly don't know what they are doing or why.

They give importance to dry numbers and rush from here to there saving a few minutes - which they don't know what to do with!

All through the story, right from the first chapter, children have been depicted as being innocent and pure and the grown-ups as those who 'never understand anything by themselves. They always need explanations'.

It is the wise fox which teaches him the most valuable lessons.

Seeing a whole lot of rose-bushes,the Prince is upset that his Rose is not really unique, but the fox tells him that whatever one loves, becomes unique to that person.
He goes on to explain that creating bonds of trust and friendship is taming and one becomes responsible for that which one has tamed.

The fox says to him - One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes.

Even when we think we understand something, there is always more to learn.

The Little Prince learns some valuable lessons and teaches many along the way- that relationships are the most important things in life and one needs a wider experience for true understanding.

The author too learns to view life differently and hopes to meet The Little Prince again.

Though it may seem like a small child's story, it is not so.

Each one of you who has read it or will, will resonate with different aspects and learn valuable insights.

Happy reading!

There is an excellent comment by James on the post about Energy Stealers.

Do read it, all of you!

Those who are new to this topic should definitely become aware of energy stealing which goes on and ensure they do not do it!

(This goes for everyone!)

So long for now,

Have a great fortnight.

I Did Start The Fire

Hi Folks!

How are you doing?

You know, I had read a sentence long ago and it has stayed in my mind-

'Change of Occupation is Relaxation'.

I find it true - again!

I am in a different place, doing completely different things and feeling totally relaxed and happy.

It is good to move away from the known areas of comfort, a lot of learning happens, sometimes consciously, sometimes unobtrusively, always beautifully!

Now let us take up Vaishali's question -

In Past Life Regression, can you go as per your will at any time or is it as per the wish of your higher self/ master guide?

You can go into PLR any time you wish.

Mostly!.

The Masters/Guides have no problem at all, they are keen for you to realise that there IS a bigger picture, that every Effect has a Cause which quite often goes back into past lives.

Now there are some people who find they can not go back at all.

The reasons are many-

Some don't really believe in the theory of past lives.

Some are afraid of 'letting go' the control of their mind as they feel scared.

Well, I would too, if someone was taking over my mind!

(It's mine,Thank-You, I'll muddle through life with all the mess but not submit to being hypnotized and god-knows-what!)

However, the method we follow is the Western one, where the mind is made sharper in its awareness, not put to sleep!

So if you, have a health or relationship issue, fear or phobia, or the best reason of all - CURIOSITY! then go right ahead!

Mrig has a question the answer to which is available in earlier posts but let us refresh again-

She asks-

Where do Souls come from?
How are they born in the first place?
What is their Origin?
If they are eternal, why do we have to learn lessons?

Many of us do get unsettled by what's happening/not happening to us or the world.

You know, we, all of us, each one of us, were a part of Creation once.

Then we decided to experience 'Creating' in all its gore and glory and to do that, decided to take the journey.

Once decided, there is a set route to follow (which was also decided by us so as to cover every aspect ).

The first time around, each soul is born out of its own choice.

Then the natural laws of cause and effect take over.

It comes in a group of 150-200 to experience all the emotions/ failings/ victories.

It learns along the way and goes back to its original home.

Leaving it in the first place and going back to it, is totally out of its own choice.

Its like wanting to swim across a turbulent river in spate because it is so exciting and exhilerating.

Or white-water rafting!

Or mountain-climbing!

Each of us wanted this adventure and have chosen to be here at this time in this family/relationship/country etc.

So - I did start my fire !
It was always burning, since the world was turning!

Please do read the posts on The 7 Stages of The Soul and those on Chakras too.

Once in a while, it is good to keep in mind that we are responsible for all that happens to us.

There is no kind/unkind entity sitting on top of us who is punishing or rewarding us.

We may have chosen tough lessons in this life, but when we did, we were Spirit, not limited by the body, had all the intelligence and consciousness at command and had complete faith in our ability in our human form to overcome the chosen obstacles and move up and closer to our Home faster.

So when life seems tough/cruel/horrible/mess/a confusion - step back and think what's it that it is trying to tell you.

There is always a lesson in repeated patterns and the moment you decipher it and resolve it, the nasty situations stop appearing and life becomes smoother.

There was a related question in the mail, let us look at it.

WHAT does the Universe want from me?

It wants what you want.

Many times we have a detailed list of what we don't want - things/people/qualities in us or others -

When it comes to what we DO want, there is fumbling, a bit of confusion.

We want to be good and holy and spiritual and loved and successful and wealthy and pure and to attain Nirvana at the end of this life.

Or before, like The Buddha.

The spiritual and material are not mutually exclusive.

One has to learn to listen to oneself and understand what one wants.
Then focus unwaveringly without allowing any distractions.

Today's Spiritual Market has a lot of attractively packaged stuff.
There will be thousands of books and view-points and contradictions too.

What will help is, the actual practice.

So I am back to my favourite -

Meditate!

Still your mind so that you can listen to its wisdom.

We are wise, all of us, we just have to realise it and respect it in us.

So long for now-

Next time, I will tell you about a really, truly favourite book of mine which I got to read again, quite unexpectedly.

It was - and will always be - as marvellous as ever!

Have a great fortnight!
