Hi Folks !
How are you doing ?!
Today, I want to tell you something that we all live with throughout our lives.
Usually with an automatic, thoughtless acceptance or with stress.
Bodily aches and pains.
Let me tell you my experience which led me to some truths I had not paid much attention to.
Remember, last year I had been to the Bodhgaya Vipassana Center to serve for 2 months.
Though I was unaware when I had given my dates, there were going to be 2 long courses - one of 30 days, another of 45.
These are serious courses where the meditators have already done many short and long courses and some are Assistant Teachers or Senior Teachers, who themselves conduct such long courses.
The energy levels are very high.
Bodhgaya is also the place of 7 Sambuddhas.
That is, before Gautama, there were 6 others who had meditated for eons on their own and attained Nirvana here.
It is a place of immensely powerful vibrations of peace and tranquility - sounds funny, doesn't it ?!
But here, power and peace do go together.
Dhammabodhi is a beautiful center and the course was filled to capacity.
We, the Servers had our tasks but because all were serious meditators, we did not have to run after them to not talk or go for the Group sittings in time.
Hence we could also meditate for 6 - 7 hours every day after doing our duties.
For me, 2 issues came up from deep recesses and got resolved.
When I left Dhammabodhi after 2 months, my energy was at peak level.
A day later, while still in Bodhgaya, my left shoulder felt as if it would - or had, burst into pieces.
It was on fire.
There was intense burning and tremendous pain.
I got myself checked after coming back and started proper IFT.
And Calcium and a few other pills 3 a day.
Then I started on the non - conventional treatments to know the root cause.
And that, is what I want to tell you about.
The clear messages I got were - ' not caring enough for the body' and, ' carrying burdens which are not mine'.
For the first, for over 25- 30 years, I was eating food which was right for someone with high BP, Cholesterol and Stress etc - which I do not have.
I was supposed to eat more grains, butter and ghee and slightly more oil than normal because my body type needed it.
A blanket ban on carbs or fats and building a habit pattern of veggies+fruits+soups without the grains is not right.
A blanket ban on anything without proper evaluation of one's body type ( Prakruti - Vata/ Pitta/Kapha ) just because some book or magazine or person says so or swears by is BAD, VERY BAD.
The wrong diet made me feel light but inside, my bone structure was weakening , poor thing.
How long could it support me ?
The second one was even more enlightening.
Some deep pondering and patience brought up where I was mentally hanging on to wishes and thoughts which I should have let go of long ago.
We make agreements with those souls with whom we have Karmic debts to clear, or they have to clear with us.
It is not always people like close relatives or friends but could be attitudes both sides need to change.
The agreements is done and sealed by both sides.
If one party reneges, sticks to its habit pattern without attempting to change, the other party is at liberty to withdraw.
In fact, they should, without ignoring, without giving endless support for wrongdoing, - and carry on without sadness or rancour.
Along with the exercises given by a Sports Medicine Expert, I meditated over this and acknowledged that I was being pretty blind or silly or both ! - and let go of stuff which was not mine to suffer any more.
I am almost completely healed now, though the twinge has stayed, probably until it is sure that I have imbibed the lesson.
Louise H. Hay's book gives you what each body part stands for.
Read and understand it.
For now, here are are some tips -
The left side of our body is for Maintenance.
The right for Initiative.
Now think of body parts and what they stand for -
Legs - movement, direction.
Hands - doing.
Eyes - viewpoint.
Teeth - roots.
and so on.
Slow down and talk to them.
Then be quiet and listen.
They will tell you what is bothering them.
Take action and thank them.
Don't make that mistake again, whatever it is.
Usually it is changing our mind-set, a hard held belief or just becoming aware / conscious of something.
So become aware.
And lead a healthy, happy life.
You owe it to yourself first.
