Hi Folks - !
How are you doing?
Time seems to be in a hurry for me!
How has it been for you ?
Its the middle of November, already !
Where did the year go?!
I hope you have something to show at the end of it.
To yourself, not others!
Me?
I shall tell you in the next post !
Let's talk about an interesting topic today.
Depression.
Lately, it seems to keep popping in different ways in Past Life Regression (PLR) sessions.
The various definitions helpfully describe it as feeling low, dejection, despondency and so on.
The reasons are many.
A feeling of hopelessness about oneself or the world around.
A kind of - ' But what's the point? '
Depression is the fruit.
The seed looks very different as all seeds do from their fruits.
Peel off the layers and what starts to peep, seep and flood out?
Anger. Frustration. Hatred.
Shame. Guilt.
Loneliness.
Laziness. Sloth. Carelessness.
What was the situation which had sown the seed - whatever your gender, whichever the lifetime?
'I was so sure of someone's love - I feel so cheated now.'
'I took support for granted because I was toiling for them, wasn't I?
It was all for them, but they let me down, left me to lose the battle / be insulted / die.'
'I had questions which were never answered.'
When people are going through the past lives, they can choose to feel all the emotions of those situations, as much as they can cope with.
They can also view the whole episode as a mere observer, in a detached way.
Then comes the learning - ' It was actually my dream, my ambition. They did not really want to fight the wars. I knew I was a good king and wanted to bring more and more people under my benign rule. I was frustrated at the end because I thought my subjects did not love and respect me as much as they should have -'
The king has carried over that feeling and in this life, is depressed at a young age because he feels everything is useless.
Studies, job, working for others, relationships -
When he came out of his body after the body died and reviewed that life from a larger perspective, he was stunned.
Being born in a royal family and inheriting the throne had not automatically invested him with wisdom.
He realized his arrogance for what it was and found enough courage to accept his cleverness to cover up his stark ambition in pious claims.
His advice to the young man of today - his reincarnation?
' You have the ability to change yourself and the world around you without using others. Get out of your self - created comfort zone of remaining dejected simply to get out of taking on challenges.'
Strong words !
Another case, a lady - ' Huge problem in the morning. Don't feel like getting up or doing any work. Feel very, very lazy. Dull and sad. I start doing household chores only after taking my pill. '
She had other worries about her house and her married daughter.
And about death. There was fear of death.
In the session she went to a past life where she was lazy and another in which she was overworked.
She left her body peacefully in both and her complete consciousness after leaving the body, after scanning those lives just completed, told her not to focus on small worries which were not under her control anyway.
Still in the session, when I asked her what she felt during and after those deaths, she said there was no reason to fear anything.
The Spiritual Master told her to have faith and let go of fear.
Out of her light trance, I asked her a vital question -
'Supposing you come out of this depression, what will you do?'
She was confused, lost for an answer.
' Would you travel? Visit religious places?Tourist places? What hobbies did you have earlier or anything you can now think of doing which will give you joy?'
' I am worried about my daughter. And I am scared of dying' , she repeated.
Depression to her was a safety net, to avoid facing challenging situations.
At times, it is also a tool to get out of making friends, putting oneself out for others or just doing boring, routine household chores quickly and efficiently.
Time hangs heavily, for such people.
There is also a fear that they are wasting time and fear its loss too.
Do you remember the 4 questions given by Byron Katie I had mentioned in an earlier post?
They are excellent to keep going back to, at least once a year or when different situations arise which upset your equilibrium -
Let me give them to you in her own words -
Question 1: Is it true?
This question can change your life. Be still and ask yourself if the thought you wrote down is true.
Question 2: Can you absolutely know it's true?
This is another opportunity to open your mind and to go deeper into the unknown, to find the answers that live beneath what we think we know.
Question 3: How do you react—what happens—when you believe that thought?
With this question, you begin to notice internal cause and effect. You can see that when you believe the thought, there is a disturbance that can range from mild discomfort to fear or panic. What do you feel? How do you treat the person (or the situation) you've written about, how do you treat yourself, when you believe that thought? Make a list, and be specific.
Question 4: Who would you be without the thought?
Imagine yourself in the presence of that person (or in that situation), without believing the thought. How would your life be different if you didn't have the ability to even think the stressful thought? How would you feel? Which do you prefer—life with or without the thought? Which feels kinder, more peaceful?
Turn the thought around:
The "turnaround" gives you an opportunity to experience the opposite of what you believe. Once you have found one or more turnarounds to your original statement, you are invited to find at least three specific, genuine examples of how each turnaround is true in your life.
